Role Overview:

This role combines team leadership, hands-on consulting, and pre-sales support within the data engineering and analytics space. You will manage a team of data engineers across multiple technologies while playing a pivotal role in the successful delivery of client projects and the development of service offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership & Delivery Oversight
   – Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, ensuring alignment with project goals and strategic direction.
   – Manage team utilization, performance, and development, conducting regular feedback sessions and annual reviews.
   – Support recruitment efforts, including interviewing and onboarding new team members.
   – Drive best practices in data engineering and analytics, maintaining documentation for scalable delivery.
   
   2. Project Management & Consulting
   – Oversee the design, development, and implementation of data engineering solutions, ensuring quality, budget adherence, and timely delivery.
   – Act as a hands-on consultant where required, conducting technical analyses and implementing data solutions that address business requirements.
   – Conduct quality assurance checks on deliverables, ensuring project standards are met.
   – Maintain ongoing client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional services and post-implementation support.
   
   3. Pre-Sales.
   – Collaborate with the sales team to scope, position, and sell data engineering solutions to new and existing clients.
   – Develop service offerings and solution frameworks that align with market needs, including pricing, collateral, and value propositions.
   – Deliver workshops and client presentations, articulating the business impact of proposed solutions.
   
   4. Internal Process Improvement
   – Foster a culture of continuous learning, ensuring the team is trained on emerging tools and best practices in data engineering and analytics.
   – Identify areas for process enhancement and provide recommendations to improve service delivery.
   – Represent the company at industry events, maintaining a strong market presence and showcasing expertise.

Skills & Experience:

– 10+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or consulting, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
– Strong technical background in SAP BW/Analytics and/or modern cloud data platforms (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, Snowflake).
– Proven track record in project management, from scoping to delivery and post-implementation support.
– Excellent communication and client engagement skills, with experience in pre-sales or business development.
– Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage client relationships effectively.

Desirable Qualifications:

– SAP BW/4HANA or cloud platform certifications (e.g., GCP, Azure).
– Experience with ETL tools, data integration, and metadata management.
– Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile, Scrum Master).
